Bucks County Jail Roster Overview
The Bucks County jail is run by the Bucks County Department of Corrections. It is a county-funded executive-branch agency, and it is the county's largest criminal justice agency. More than 340 employees staff it. The agency serves both municipal and state law enforcement, and it works with the Court of Common Pleas and the 18 Magisterial District Courts that route cases through the county. You can read about the agency on the county's Corrections page.
Here is the part that trips people up. Bucks County does not post a public online jail roster. There is no web page where you type a name and see a list of inmates with photos. The official way to search is a phone system. The county calls it an Interactive Voice Response, or IVR, lookup. You call, follow the voice prompts, and the system reads back custody details for active offenders.
The phone lookup does not cover everyone. People held in federal custody, or sentenced to a state prison, will not be found through the county tool. Those records sit with other agencies. The county phone system reaches only people held by the Bucks County Department of Corrections.
What the phone system can do is real and useful. Callers can search active offenders and hear the bond, the Bucks County Corrections identification number, the housing location, the visiting hours, and other pertinent information. That covers most of what a family needs in the first hours after an arrest. It confirms the person is in custody, tells you where, and tells you when you can visit. For the rest, the corrections office takes calls directly.
How to Use the Bucks County Inmate Roster
The roster lookup is a phone call, plain and simple. You reach the county's Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Lookup and let the system guide you. Have the person's name ready before you dial. The steps below walk through a typical call.
- Call the IVR lookup line at 267-915-4072.
- Follow the voice prompts as the system reads your options.
- Enter or speak the offender's information when asked.
- Listen for the bond, corrections ID number, housing location, and visiting hours.
- For details the IVR does not cover, call the Department of Corrections at 215-345-3700.
The system handles active offenders. If the person was already released, transferred, or held elsewhere, the phone tool may not have a match. In that case, the Department of Corrections main line is the next step.
Roster Search Fields
The phone lookup does not use a web form with boxes to fill. You give the offender's information by keypad or by voice, and the system reads back a set fact list. So the search fields really break into two parts: what you put in, and what the call gives back. The table lays both out.
| Field | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phone Number | Dial | Yes | Call the IVR line at 267-915-4072 to start. |
| Offender Search Input | Keypad or Voice | Yes | Enter or speak the offender's information at the prompt. |
| Result: Bond | Read-back | n/a | The bond tied to the active offender. |
| Result: Corrections ID Number | Read-back | n/a | The Bucks County Corrections identification number. |
| Result: Housing Location | Read-back | n/a | Where the offender is held in the system. |
| Result: Visiting Hours | Read-back | n/a | The visiting window for that offender. |
| Result: Other Pertinent Information | Read-back | n/a | Added detail the system shares on the call. |
Because the lookup is voice-driven, a quiet room helps. Spelling a last name slowly, or having the offender's details on hand, makes the match faster.
What an Inmate Profile Shows
There is no online profile page in the way other counties post them. The Bucks County system does not show mugshots, charges, dates of birth, or court dates on a web page. The county does not post inmate profiles online at all. What you get is a phone read-back of a few fixed categories. The table below lists exactly those categories and nothing more.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Bond | The bond amount or status set for the offender. |
| Corrections ID Number | The Bucks County Corrections identification number used to track the offender. |
| Housing Location | Where the offender is housed within the corrections system. |
| Visiting Hours | The visiting window assigned to that offender's housing. |
| Other Pertinent Information | Any extra detail the system shares for that offender. |
That is the full scope of the read-back. The lookup is by phone, and the county does not publish profiles, mugshots, or charge lists online. For anything beyond these categories, families need to call the corrections office or look to the underlying court case.
Note: The corrections ID number is worth writing down, since other tasks like mail and visitation lean on it.
Bucks County Jail Facilities
The Department of Corrections runs three facilities on the county's Doylestown campus. Each one serves a different group. The Main Correctional Facility is where every newly committed offender first arrives. Staff there process and classify each person before any housing move. The two other facilities take specific populations after that intake step.
Main Correctional Facility
1730 S Easton Road
Doylestown, PA 18901
215-345-3700
All newly committed offenders arrive, are processed, and are classified here.
Men's Community Corrections Center
Bucks County campus
Doylestown, PA 18901
215-345-3700

The main office handles general questions for all three. The corrections agency address is 1730 S Easton Road, Doylestown, PA 18901, with a main phone of 215-345-3700 and a fax of 215-918-3015.
County Jail vs State Prison
People mix up the county jail and the state prison system all the time, and the lookup tools differ. The county jail, run by the Department of Corrections, holds people awaiting trial and people serving shorter county sentences. State-sentenced inmates are held by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections instead. You can search those state cases through the Pennsylvania DOC inmate locator, shown on the state's Locate an Inmate page.
The state locator searches by last name or inmate number, which is a very different tool from the county phone IVR. A person held in the Bucks County jail will not turn up in the state locator, and a state inmate will not turn up in the county phone lookup. For custody status and release notifications, the public service is VINELink. More depth on custody changes sits on the released inmates page.
Booking Process in Bucks County
Booking starts with an arrest or a court commitment. From there, the person is transported to the Main Correctional Facility, which is where all intake happens. Staff review identity and check the warrant or court paperwork that brought the person in. Once that paperwork checks out, the classification step decides where and how the person will be housed.
After classification, the facility assigns housing and gives the person access to the phone, tablet, and mail procedures used inside. Bail or commitment processing runs in step with this, depending on what the court ordered. Court scheduling then ties back to the Magisterial District Court or the Court of Common Pleas, since those courts drive the case forward.
The county does not publish fixed time limits for each stage. Intake can move quickly or take longer based on the day. What stays constant is the path: arrest or commitment, transport, intake at the main facility, paperwork review, classification, and a housing assignment.
Court scheduling is the thread that runs through the whole stay. A case may sit in the Magisterial District Court for the early steps, then move to the Court of Common Pleas as it advances. The corrections agency works with both, since it serves municipal and state law enforcement alike. That link between the jail and the courts is why a bond figure from the phone lookup can change as a case moves.
Visitation Hours and Rules
Every offender is issued a tablet for video visitation. There is a fee for video visits, handled through Global Tel Link (GTL) at GettingOut. In-person visits are processed at the lobby. To visit, you must be on the inmate's approved visitation list, and the inmate is the one who manages that list. So the first step is making sure the inmate has added you. The county's Visitation page lays out the full rule set.
The rules are strict, and they matter. Visitors over 16 need a photo ID, such as a driver's license, an employment or school ID, a non-driver license, or a passport. Visitors under 16 must be with a legal guardian. Visitors ages 16 to 18 need a guardian's approval. Only two visitors may visit at one time. Leaving your assigned seat ends the visit on the spot.
Valuables, except an ID and keys, must be left in the vehicle. Nothing may be brought into the visiting room. Contraband is barred, and the visitation page cites 18 Pa.C.S. § 5123, with penalties up to five years. A dress code is also in force.
- No halter, midriff, or tube tops.
- Shirts must reach below the belt line.
- No short shorts.
- No see-through items.
- No hats or bandanas unless approved.
Visiting windows are tied to housing modules, so the time depends on where the offender is held. The schedule below follows the November 2025 windows.

How to Contact an Inmate
Mail rules changed in a big way, and using the old address gets your letter sent back. Effective March 1, 2024, all incoming personal mail must go to a scanning mail center, not the jail itself. The center scans the mail and passes it along inside. Personal mail sent straight to the facility is returned to sender, so the format matters. The county's Contact My Inmate page spells out the steps.
Use this address format for personal mail:
- Bucks County, PA
- Inmate Name, BCP #
- P.O. Box 247
- Phoenix, MD 21131
The BCP number is the corrections ID you can get from the phone lookup, so grab it first. Beyond mail, video visitation through the issued tablet is the main way to connect face to face, and that runs through GTL at GettingOut. Always follow the current jail instructions, since vendors and rules can change.
Commissary and Inmate Funds
Tablets are issued to all offenders, and video visitation carries a fee through GTL, also known as GettingOut. That is the one vendor the county pages name for video visits. Families often ask about commissary prices, phone-call rates, deposit vendors, kiosk spots, and tablet fees. Those details were not published on the official county pages reviewed.
Because of that, it would be wrong to quote prices or name extra vendors here. No commissary price list, money-deposit vendor, or call rate is posted by the county beyond the GTL video service. The safe move is to follow the official jail and vendor instructions for putting money on an account or buying a service. If a step is unclear, the Department of Corrections main line at 215-345-3700 can point you the right way.
